Acorn Counseling and Consultation

Ashley Boatman, LCSW-S

Providing trauma-informed and authentic counseling and therapy. The goal is to help individuals manage and improve their mental health, while cultivating meaning within the process.

What I do

I began Acorn Counseling and Consultation with the goal of providing integrative mental health counseling to individuals who are struggling. These struggles often include mental health issues, but can also include general challenges with finding peace, balance, or meaning in their lives. Often, these issues include anxiety, depression, excessive stress, grief, trauma, or any other issues that may present a challenge in day-to-day functioning. The approach I take is focused on exploration, knowledge, and genuine human connection.

Therapy involves a unique and powerful relationship that can be scary for many people. There is an immense amount of trust required to do the work of therapy. Getting to know and trust your therapist is extremely vital to the process of healing. This is more than opinion, it is supported by the research. This is why I am focused on building trust with clients and encourage going at your own pace, asking questions, and being open about what you want and need from your time in therapy.

Anyone can benefit from counseling and therapy. I specialize in working with women, particularly those struggling with fertility issues, motherhood, identity, or LGBTQ issues. This practice is inclusive and welcoming of anyone and everyone looking for treatment. I welcome all identities and people who need help.
